My Competence and Abilities

Our society would not be able to function as it does without the work of civil engineers. The infrastructure that they help to build and maintain can benefit communities and individuals for generations. For me this simple statement sums up what it is to be a civil engineer, a professional who has the opportunity to work on projects that not only change our physical surroundings but also at the same time improve the lives of literally millions of people. Engineers more than anyone else have the opportunity to shape and manipulate the world we live in. I aspire to become one of these people and work on large scale technically demanding projects that build the ‘life support systems’ of modern communities. As I have always been interested in environmental sustainability issues I would ideally like to be able to use my experience and professionalism as a qualified engineer to safely deliver carbon neutral, sustainable, high quality construction projects on time and within budget

Primary goals of HIPAA law

The U.S. Congress passed HIPAA to: Improve portability and continuity of health insurance coverage in the group and individual markets Combat waste, fraud, and abuse in health insurance and health care delivery Promote the use of medical savings accounts Improve access to long term care services and coverage Simplify the administration of health insurance HIPAA isn’t only about ensuring the continuation of health insurance for individuals changing employment, but it is about protecting the privacy of patient or health plan member records and any other individually identifiable health information in any form. In order to enable these sweeping goals, the original HIPAA legislation included a number of titles, each addressing a different facet of the overall objective. Title I: Healthcare Insurance Access, Portability, and Renewability Title II: Preventing Healthcare Fraud and Abuse; Administrative Simplification; Medical Liability Reform Title III: Tax-rela

HIPAA password requirements

When it comes to HIPAA compliance, there are many factors and areas that you must update, monitor and maintain. One of the most straight forward and first steps in compliance is the creation and deployment of an effective password structure and program. HIPAA password requirements are an often overlooked component of an effective HIPAA compliance program. Along with a robust privacy and security program, strong passwords can go far to protect the sensitive health data you store. HIPAA regulation sets strict national privacy and security standards. These standards are absolutely fundamental to protecting your organization from data breaches and hefty HIPAA fines. Each HIPAA standard corresponds to a policy or procedure that health care organizations must have in place. Once you’ve addressed your HIPAA password requirements, be sure to get the rest of your HIPAA compliance program in check! HIPAA Privacy and Security standards are absolutely essential to protecti

Meeting GDPR training requirements

Achieving GDPR compliance starts with employee training and education. Ultimately, it is your employees who are responsible for data processing activities your organisation takes. A data protection officer stands at a fork in the road, just months before the General Data Protection Regulation goes into effect . For months, the DPO’s team has been working on getting their program in place. They can finally see their way past writing policies and conducting privacy impact assessments and leading their team as they document all their data classification procedures. Now it’s time to decide how they’ll handle the training requirements embedded within the GDPR. You may be standing at that same fork in the road. There are two paths toward meeting your goals: a deeply cynical option and a hopelessly idealistic option. The cynical path to GDPR training compliance is very direct. It could be as simple as this:require online training for all those who process data, and require these same
